Thelma Chalifoux School adopted a policy where all students are requested to bring a student-owned device that will be used in the classroom to support instruction and learning. We call this program bring your own device (B.Y.O.D.). 

Chromebook Parent Purchase Program 

Families have the opportunity to buy Chromebooks at discounted prices through  PC Corp and Compugen, the information technology companies that supply Edmonton Public Schools.

Benefits of the program

Chromebooks purchased through this program are high-quality, enterprise-grade Chromebooks similar to those used in Division schools. They include a 3-year depot service warranty provided directly by the vendor/manufacturer. Chromebooks bought from local stores typically come with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Buying a Chromebook through the program

Both companies offer different models of Chromebooks, with different warranties and ways to order. Families who choose to buy Chromebooks through the Chromebook Parent Purchase Program assume all responsibility for those Chromebooks.
